One of my favorite paper crafting collections is by K&CompanyBrenda Walton’s Mira Collection. I just can not get enough of these asian lantern embellishments.

My June Bug

Posted by Tami Lynn in Tidbits

I have a new friend who lives on my dining room screen. Luckily, he knows to stay outside. Mr. June Bug is surprisingly pretty, and is the largest beetle I have ever seen (just over an inch long, and half inch wide). I can’t help but wonder if I am just as entertaining for him as he is for me…

Making Mothers

Posted by Tami Lynn in Child Birth, Quotes, Tidbits

I came across this quote today and just had to share…

Birth is not about making babies. Birth is about making mothers – strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength.

Love Life Card

Todays overcast Seattle skies drew me to bright colors of summer hope.

And, nothing adds shiny brightness quite like glitter…

Blue Birdie Card

Posted by Tami Lynn in Cards, Tidbits

Springtime has inspired me to try some new techniques. Here is my latest bird card:

Blue Birdie Card

I have learned to fill in a stamped image with colored pencil BEFORE pasting it onto textured paper, which apparently leaves grid marks (oopsie!):

To get a raised 3-D appearance, first I stamped swirls in the corners of the card. Then, for the first time, I tried attaching my stamp embellishment to the base card with foam mounting tape, overlaying the swirls. The foam mounting tape was very easy to work with, and I am definitely pleased with the results.

And, in true Tami Lynn style, I highlighted my stamp with Martha Stewart’s fine glitter.

School Bus Card

Posted by Tami Lynn in Cards, Quotes, Tidbits

I found an adorable collection of Melissa & Doug kids vehicle stamps at a fairly new children’s boutique shop in Gig Harbor, WA – Hush Baby. I could not wait to play with my new toys and make a card for a school bus driver friend of mine.

This fun and youthful paper from BasicGrey’s Mellow Collection was a perfect compliment to the school bus stamp.

Le Plume II Bright double ended markers were great to color in some tiny, and some not-so-tiny stamp spaces.
